For last-mile mobility, Mahindra pitches electric skate-scooter
Scoot is offering a host of mobility solutions in San Francisco, and now in Barcelona and Santiago in Chile.
Mahindra & Mahindra on Tuesday showcased the electric ‘Kick’ scooter - developed by San Francisco-headquartered Scoot Networks (in which it holds a majority stake) to ministers and other stakeholders, offering it as a one-person mobility solution that can be hired at dirt-cheap rates to easily navigate short distances across crowded streets.
Scoot is offering a host of mobility solutions in San Francisco, and now in Barcelona and Santiago in Chile. India, for which it appears to be a “perfect last-mile solution”, is now being explored as a potential market, Mahindra said. “The goal in showcasing the Kick here was exploratory. The Kick should enter the discussions around last-mile mobility solutions,” Mahindra said.
Among others, the scooter was shown to union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, environment minister Harsh Vardhan and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
