The 2026 Tata Punch facelift introduces significant styling, feature and powertrain updates over the older model, while retaining the micro-SUV’s familiar boxy silhouette and core practicality. Key changes include refreshed exterior design elements, a more premium interior, expanded technology features and the introduction of a turbocharged engine option. The most notable addition is the Punch iTurbo, powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 PS and 170 Nm, making it the most powerful Punch to date. This variant is positioned for buyers seeking stronger on-road performance without moving up to a larger SUV.

Compared with the previous Punch, the 2026 facelift adopts a more contemporary and SUV-inspired appearance. Key exterior updates include narrower LED daytime running lights, redesigned LED headlamps, a revised 3D front grille and a modified bumper featuring integrated lighting. The facelift also adds SUV cladding and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels; the basic boxy side profile remains largely unchanged.


At the rear, the facelift introduces connected LED taillights and a redesigned bumper, replacing the older model’s separate taillamp layout and simpler bumper design.

Interior and technology enhancements

Inside, the facelift moves toward a more premium feel with a dual-tone theme, which differs from the older model’s generally single-tone interior. The updated cabin includes a digital steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster, redesigned air vents and a CentraLuxe centre console with armrest, none of which were part of the previous Punch’s interior specification.

Rear seating comfort is improved with the addition of a rear armrest. The updated Punch comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reverse parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. The older Punch was offered primarily with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine; this continues in the facelift and produces 73.4 bhp and 103 Nm, available with a 5-speed manual or AMT. The facelift also introduces a CNG AMT option, a segment first, with the CNG powertrain delivering 87.8 bhp and 115 Nm — an offering not present in the older model.

The new turbocharged engine is the most significant performance upgrade, producing 120 bhp and 170 Nm and paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Tata Motors claims the Punch facelift accelerates from 0–100 kmph in 11.1 seconds, supported by a power-to-weight ratio of 105 PS per tonne.

Boot space remains a strong practicality factor, with 366 litres in petrol variants and 210 litres in CNG variants. Other practical attributes such as a commanding seating position, high visibility and robust ground clearance are consistent with the characteristics of the older Punch.

Variants and personalization

The 2026 Punch facelift is offered in Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S variants. Tata Motors has also introduced four new colour options — Cyantific, Caramel, Bengal Rouge and Coorg Clouds — expanding personalization choices beyond the palette of the previous model.
