Tata Motors will launch the 2026 Tata Punch in the Indian market on January 13, marking the first major facelift of the micro-SUV since its debut. The updated Punch brings exterior and interior revisions, new features, and an additional engine option. Pre-bookings are expected to open shortly, with customer deliveries likely to begin by the end of January 2026.

The facelifted Punch continues with the same overall positioning but introduces a streamlined variant lineup and refreshed styling inspired by the Punch EV, alongside enhanced safety and technology features.

Variants and colour options

Tata Motors has revised the variant structure for the 2026 Punch. While the outgoing model was offered in 10 variants, the updated version reduces the lineup to six trims. The new Smart variant serves as the entry-level option, while the earlier top-spec Creative+ variants have been discontinued. The 2026 Punch will be available in Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S trims.

The micro-SUV will be offered in six exterior colour options: Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Coorg Clouds, Cyantafic, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White.

Expected pricing

The outgoing Tata Punch was priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom). With additional features and the introduction of a new turbo-petrol engine, the facelifted Punch is expected to be priced at a premium, with prices likely to start at around Rs 6 lakh and go up to approximately Rs 9.50 lakh.

Design updates

The 2026 Tata Punch retains its familiar silhouette but receives notable changes at the front and rear. The front end now features slimmer DRLs, a blacked-out grille, and a redesigned bumper with prominent black cladding and a functional air intake. New LED headlamps with angular housings and a silver skid plate enhance the SUV’s rugged appearance.

From the side, the design remains largely unchanged, apart from new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the tailgate and lower bumper have been revised, and the Punch now gets connected LED taillamps.

Interior and features

Inside, the cabin layout remains similar to the outgoing model but gains several updates. The 2026 Punch gets a new free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated elements. Touch-based controls for the air-conditioning system are positioned below the touchscreen.

Additional features include a digital instrument cluster, single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, premium sound system, cruise control, and push-button start/stop. On the safety front, the updated Punch is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, and reverse parking sensors.

Engine options

The 2026 Tata Punch continues with the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque. The CNG version of the same engine delivers 73 PS and 103 Nm of torque and is available only with a five-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant can be paired with either a manual or an AMT gearbox.

In addition, Tata Motors will introduce a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with the facelifted Punch. This unit produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
