Renault to launch a mass-market EV in 2 years

Renault India will be launching a new vehicle segment this year, followed by a mass-market electric vehicle in the next couple of years, the company said at the Auto Expo on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: Renault India will be launching a new vehicle segment this year, followed by a mass-market electric vehicle in the next couple of years, the company said at the Auto Expo on Wednesday.

The company launched the AMT variant of its latest MPV Triber. Aided by the sales of Triber, Renault India was one of the few growing companies in India in 2019, said Fabrice Cambolive, Senior Vice President, Chairman of AMI-Pacific, Groupe Renault

"Renault is committed to a cleaner environment," he said. "We already began this transition with introducing BS-VI vehicles, the next step will be introducing electric vehicles."
