Nissan Gravite launch: Check expected price, engine, features, seating and more

Nissan is preparing to launch its new 7-seater Gravite in India, targeting the sub-4-metre MPV segment, which remains popular among large families, ride-share operators, and road-trip enthusiasts looking for space without the cost of a full-size SUV.

The Gravite is designed to leverage India’s taxation rules, which favour vehicles under four metres in length, allowing competitive pricing while offering three-row seating. Built on the CMF-A platform shared with the Renault Triber, the Gravite will feature a distinctive Nissan design, including a bold grille, new headlamps, and revised bumpers aligned with the brand’s global styling.

Estimates suggest a starting price of around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom), with top variants potentially reaching Rs 12–15 lakh, positioning the Gravite between premium hatchbacks and larger MPVs.

The car is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing about 71 hp and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. A turbo-petrol version may be introduced later for highway performance.

Practical features are expected to include an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, AC vents for all three rows, digital instrument display, and a modular seating layout for flexible luggage and passenger configurations.

The Gravite will compete directly with the Renault Triber while appealing to buyers who might otherwise consider the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga or Kia Carens. Nissan aims to offer maximum space, flexibility, and value at an accessible price, marking a renewed focus on India’s mass-market segment and family buyers.
