Elva: McLaren's latest sports car
McLaren Automotive has revealed its latest sports car, the Elva.

It has no windows, roof or windscreen - and instead uses air. The car is able to still create a 'relative bubble of calm', which would normally be provided by glass, by shaping the wind around the vehicle.

The Elva is incredibly limited: only 399 will be made, and they start at nearly £1.5 million.

For that price, customers won't get any windows to keep the weather out.

The seats too are designed specifically for this car, with a new lightweight carbon shell that supports the head, shoulder and back.

The car is offered without an audio system as standard.

The floor is exposed carbon fibre, with lightweight non-slip mats as standard.

With the cockpit open to the elements, the Elva is offered with a range of trims designed to cope with exposure to rain, sunlight and other intrusions. A small storage compartment, designed to house helmets, is located beneath the rear tonneau.
