Kia opens bookings for 3 new cars: Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG and Carnival Hybrid

The three models were recently showcased at Kia India’s Inspiration Day. While the Carens and Carens Clavis are being introduced with factory-fitted CNG technology, the Carnival Limousine gets a hybrid powertrain.
Prices for all three models will be announced at a later date.
Kia Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG: Engine and features
The Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG will be powered by the G1.5 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Both models will come with a factory-fitted CNG kit and a 60-litre tank.The CNG versions also receive several mechanical and equipment changes, including CNG-specific engine calibration and a modified suspension setup. Both models get 16-inch wheels and 16-inch disc brakes.
Kia has also equipped the CNG variants with a dedicated CNG Fuel Change Switch and a 4.2-inch colour TFT MID with CNG distance-to-empty (DTE) logic.
The third-row seat-back frame has been modified as well, with Kia claiming that the changes improve the recline angle and passenger comfort.
Kia Carens CNG, Clavis CNG variants
The Carens CNG will be available in the Premium (O) G1.5 6MT variant for private buyers.The Carens Clavis CNG will be offered in HTE and HTE (O) variants, both paired with the G1.5 engine and six-speed manual gearbox.
For business-to-business and commercial mobility requirements, Kia will offer the Carens CNG in the M-Drive G1.5 6MT configuration, while the Carens Clavis CNG will be available in the HTM G1.5 6MT variant.
Kia Carnival Limousine Hybrid: Engine and features
The Kia Carnival Limousine Hybrid gets a G1.6T HEV engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It will be offered in the Limousine+ trim, bringing a hybrid powertrain to Kia India's premium MPV range.The Carnival Hybrid will feature 18-inch Crystal Cut dual-tone Aero alloy wheels, along with Active Air Flaps (AAF) and a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS).
The premium MPV will also come with a Smart Pure Air Purifier with AQI display. Other features include retractable and height-adjustable seat-back tables with wireless charging, monotone ambient lighting, cup holders and leatherette-wrapped door trims.
Kia expands CNG and hybrid car line-up in India
With the introduction of these three models, Kia is expanding its choice of alternative powertrains in India. The Carens and Carens Clavis now add factory-fitted CNG options, while the Carnival Limousine gets a hybrid powertrain.Kia said the move is aimed at addressing the varied mobility requirements of Indian customers and strengthening its multi-powertrain strategy.
