JLR slashes Defender, Range Rover and Discovery prices by up to ₹30.4 lakh after GST rate cut

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Tuesday announced significant price reductions across its portfolio in India, passing on the benefits of the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate cut on luxury cars to customers.

With immediate effect, prices of JLR models will drop between ₹4.5 lakh and ₹30.4 lakh, covering its entire line-up of Range Rover, Defender and Discovery SUVs, as per PTI.

“The GST rationalisation on luxury vehicles is a welcome move for customers and for the industry. This move will provide much-needed impetus, reinforcing our confidence in and commitment to India’s luxury market,” said Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India.


The announcement comes as luxury carmakers in India move quickly to realign prices in response to the revised tax regime.

In a separate statement, Volvo Car India said it would also cut prices by up to ₹6.9 lakh on its internal combustion engine (ICE) models, effective September 22.
