Jeep Compass gets new 9-speed automatic diesel variant; check price, features, delivery date

Jeep India on Monday announced the launch of the Compass Sport FWD with a 9-speed automatic transmission, priced at ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant is positioned as the most affordable automatic version of the Jeep Compass in India and adds an automatic option to the entry-level variant of the SUV for the first time, according to the company statement.

The Compass Sport 9AT is powered by a 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine that produces 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, with the front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration aimed at customers seeking the convenience of an automatic transmission for everyday driving.

Commenting on the launch, Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said, “The Compass has always stood for authentic Jeep capability, distinctive design and a confident driving experience. With the introduction of the 9-speed automatic transmission in the Compass Sport, we are making that experience more accessible than ever before.”

Jeep Compass Sport 9AT: Features and safety

The new Compass variant comes with six airbags, Auto Hold and cruise control. It also features a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable door mirrors.

The SUV retains Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension, designed to improve ride comfort across varying road conditions, and Dynamic Steering Torque (DST), which is intended to support responsive handling.

Optional accessory pack

Customers can opt for an accessory pack priced at ₹29,900. The package includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, a Swoosh decal, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.

The Jeep Compass Sport 9AT is priced at ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of November 2026 through Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses across India.

The wider Compass range continues to offer manual and automatic transmission options, along with two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
