Honda Cars launches compact SUV BR-V tagged upwards of Rs 8.75 lakh

NEW DELHI: Japanese auto major Honda Cars today entered the race for entry-level SUVs with the BR-V. The BR-V is pitted against the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.

While the petrol versions of the BR-V are priced between Rs 8.75 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh; the diesel variants will come for between Rs 9.90-12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Yoichiro Ueno, president & CEO, Honda Cars India said, "India is a key market for Honda and as part of the business expansion we are focusing on increasing our customer base with new model introduction. The launch of BR-V marks Honda's entry into the popular compact SUV segment."

Honda Cars India's sales grew by two per cent last fiscal, at a time when passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market increased by 7.24% to 2.78 million units. "We are confident that BR-V will strongly appeal to the customers and accelerate our growth while strengthening our brand presence in the country", Ueno added.
