Guillaume Cartier, chief performance officer at Nissan, told ET the company would consider contract manufacturing opportunities if it gets an appropriate proposal, though noting that there are no active discussions.
"At this stage, I cannot say there is a specific discussion or negotiation. But I cannot say never," said Cartier.
The comments come months after Nissan completed the sale of its stake in Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL), with the French partner taking full ownership of the Chennai plant.
