MUMBAI: Ampere Electric, the electric vehicle subsidiary of engine maker Greaves Cotton, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Thiruppathy Srinivasan as chief technology officer and head of manufacturing.

Prior to joining Ampere, Srinivasan worked with rival Ather Energy as the vice president for operations and strategy, followed by a stint as an advisor to various companies, including Ather. His expertise lies in technology and organizational strategy, product development and manufacturing operations to enable efficiency in businesses, according to a press statement from Ampere.

Srinivasan holds an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University and B.Tech from IIT- Madaras.
