With the opening of the Ranipet plant, India is officially added to the global industrial map for the luxury vehicle brand," he said.
The facility will produce both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles as well as electric vehicles (EVs).

He recalled that Stalin laid the foundation stone of the project 16 months ago and affirmed his full support to Tata Motors. He revealed that the project follows a three-phase planning schedule which is to be fulfilled within four years.
Chandrasekaran noted that the "Tata Motors, JLR industry will be at an advanced level" as it scales up production over the coming years.
Further, the Tata Sons chairman detailed Tata Group's growing footprint within Tamil Nadu with the expansion of various verticals, including Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels Taj, and Tata Electronics.
State Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions and Commerce, TRB Rajaa highlighted that the establishment of a new Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing facility in Ranipet is set to generate 5,000 direct jobs, marking a significant expansion of the luxury brand's footprint in India.
"...What is more important for me and my Chief Minister is the ancillary units that are going to come around JLR itself. It's going to be phenomenal," Rajaa told ANI.
He further stated that the facility represents the first phase of a larger developmental plan for the site and that the impact of the investment extended beyond the immediate factory walls. Looking ahead, the state government anticipates further expansions at the new site. Rajaa mentioned that the current operations represented only the initial stage of the project.
"This is just phase one you're seeing. Imagine phase two and three also coming in and the entire lot of vehicles being rolled out," he said. He also noted that more investments are expected in the near future, pointing toward the upcoming 'Convergence Conclave' as a platform for further announcements.
He credited the swift delivery of the project to the collaboration between the state government and the Tata Group. "We're extremely, extremely thankful to the Tata Group also for having pulled this off in record time. One is clearance, but then execution here also matters," Rajaa said.
The workforce for the new plant was recruited from across the state, utilising local skill development initiatives, he added. Rajaa highlighted the role of the state's Skill Development Corporation in preparing the local youth for these roles.
