Chennai: Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) on Monday said that director Lakshmi Venu has been appointed as vice chairman of the company's board.

"Dr. Lakshmi has been a key member of our leadership team and a member of TAFE's board," Mallika Srinivasan, chairman & MD, TAFE, said in a statement. "With her leadership style that is focused on building for the future, we look forward to her leveraging TAFE's collaborative, value-based approach towards its vision of 'Cultivating the World'."

The company said that in recognition of Lakshmi's achievements in the farm mechanization and auto component business as well as her deep involvement in TAFE's Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors business, she was appointed with the position.

Sources said the succession planning of TAFE also becomes clearer with Lakshmi Venu being elevated. The ownership and management of TVS Holdings and TAFE is being aligned among the family members, they said.
