Skoda Auto India had discontinued its diesel portfolio, ahead of the transition to BS-VI, in India.
Developed on the MQB -A0 -IN platform, engineered specifically for Indian conditions and ready for the world, the Slavia has established itself as one of the country's most successful sedans, Skoda Auto India said.
The new Slavia further strengthens this proposition with enhanced styling, new technologies, segment-first features and greater comfort, while retaining the engaging driving experience, practicality and safety that customers associate with the brand, it said.

On the return of the Superb in the diesel variant, the company said that a diesel powertrain further enhances the sedan's appeal and added that "as Skoda's flagship luxury sedan, the Superb TDI represents the brand's continued commitment to offering world-class products to discerning Indian customers.".
