SC could hear plea on extension of registration of BS-IV vehicles on March 27

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (fada) had filed an application with the Supreme Court a few days back ,seeking extension of sale and registration of BS-IV vehicles till May 31, 2020 -- an extension of 2 months from the March 31 deadline to clear the unsold stock.

The latest update from the Supreme Court is that we have a Probable Listing for the 27th of March, fada said in a statement.

Fada is trying for an earlier listing of 24th or 25th of March But there is also a possibility of the Supreme Court shutting down for some time as yesterday it has been suggested by the Supreme Court Bar Association to the Chief Justice of India, it said that statement.


With this background and the fact that many more cities and towns have gone into lockdown today, OEM's need to give assurance of return of unsold BS-IV inventory in case we do not get a date extension in the Supreme Court.
