Jindal has been a member of the board of JSW MG Motor India since the formation of the joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor. He has been closely involved in shaping the company's product strategy, manufacturing expansion and localisation programme, the company said.

Jindal currently serves as managing director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints, and as chairman of JSW Dulux. He is also a director on the board of JSW Energy, founder of JSW Sports and chairman and co-owner of the Delhi Capitals.
The appointment comes as JSW MG Motor India pushes ahead with an expansion strategy centred on new products, electric vehicles and greater localisation. The company has been stepping up its investment in India as part of its broader effort to expand manufacturing capacity and reduce its dependence on imported components.

JSW Group and China's SAIC Motor formed their strategic joint venture in 2023, with JSW taking a 35% stake in the Indian automaker. The partnership has since focused on expanding the MG brand's presence in India's growing new-energy vehicle market.
Jindal's elevation to chairman comes alongside a broader push by the company to deepen its manufacturing and product footprint in India. JSW MG Motor India is targeting higher localisation levels across its vehicle portfolio and has been seeking to expand its range of electric and hybrid vehicles.
