Nissan Motor India reported a 147% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale volumes to 3,426 units in August, helped by sustained demand for its Magnite and Gravite models and the response to its newly launched Tekton SUV.

The automaker recorded total wholesale volumes of 9,350 units during the month, including 5,924 vehicles exported to international markets.

Nissan also began exporting the Tekton to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal, dispatching an initial batch of more than 1,300 units as part of its “One Car. One World.” strategy.

The exports mark the first phase of the Tekton's international rollout, with Nissan planning to introduce the SUV in additional markets over time. The company said the move underscores the growing role of its Indian operations in its global manufacturing and export network.

The company said the start of exports to Nepal and Bhutan would further expand the Tekton's presence in neighbouring markets, while helping Nissan build scale across both domestic and international markets from India.

The Tekton is positioned as a key model in Nissan's growth strategy for India. The SUV combines the company's SUV design language with Japanese craftsmanship, technology and everyday practicality, Nissan said.
