Mahindra & Mahindra offers to scrap old vehicles of customers buying new ones

Cero, India’s first authorised recycler for motor vehicles, is a joint venture between Mahindra Intertrade Ltd and government-owned MSTC. It is registered as Mahindra MSTC Recycling Private Limited.

Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has tied up with its vehicle recycling arm Cero to offer the option of scrapping to its customers trading in their vehicles older than 15 years at its showrooms.

Customers can now trade in their vehicles meant to be scrapped at the showroom while buying a new Mahindra vehicle, said M&M. However, it did not disclose whether it would give any special discount to customers scrapping their old vehicles in line with the suggestion made by the road transport and highways ministry in its draft scrappage policy.

“We have dismantling centres at Greater Noida, Pune and Chennai and in addition to that collection centres at major cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh,” Mahindra Intertrade managing director Sumit Issar said in a statement.
