Maruti Suzuki India reported a 16.72% year-on-year rise in total sales to 2,25,251 units in March, up from 1,92,984 units in the same month last year, according to a regulatory filing.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,66,219 units during the month, compared with 1,50,743 units in March 2025, marking a growth of 10.27%.

Among segments, entry-level mini cars, including Alto and S-Presso, recorded sales of 11,741 units, marginally higher than 11,655 units a year earlier.

Compact car sales — comprising models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR — rose to 71,789 units from 66,906 units in March 2025.

Utility vehicles, including Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, saw a stronger uptick, with sales increasing to 71,356 units from 61,097 units in the year-ago month.

Sales of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 3,209 units, up from 2,391 units in March last year.

For the full financial year 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 24,22,713 units, compared with 22,34,266 units in FY25, reflecting steady growth across segments.
