Kinetic is back! New electric scooter with 1980s charm set to launch on July 28

Kinetic Green is set to make a fresh entry into the electric scooter segment with an all-new model scheduled for launch on July 28, 2025, The Times of India reported. A teaser confirming the launch date has already been released, and test mules of the upcoming scooter have been spotted on Indian roads.

Despite being under wraps, the new Kinetic DX appears to draw heavily from the design of the iconic Kinetic Honda DX, a scooter that became a household name across India in the 1980s.

Kinetic DX e-scooter: What to expect

According to TOI, spy images suggest that the e-scooter’s front apron, headlamp cluster, and overall silhouette clearly reflect its retro roots while blending in modern elements like a backlit Kinetic logo and a TFT instrument cluster.


Beneath the vintage styling, the scooter packs a modern electric drivetrain. The upcoming model will use a hub-mounted motor and is expected to offer battery options between 2 kWh and 3.5 kWh. It will likely reach a top speed of 80 km/h, putting it in the same league as other premium electric scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida VX2, TOI said.

Hardware highlights are likely to include 12-inch wheels, a front disc brake, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers.

While full specifications and pricing will be revealed at the official unveiling, Kinetic Green reportedly has aggressive plans for India’s EV market, with three “Born Electric” scooters expected to launch over the next 18 months, The Times of India added.
