Hyundai Motor reports 13 pc increase in exports, overall sales decline 6 pc in June

The automaker said its dispatches to dealers in the domestic market declined 12 per cent to 44,024 units in June as compared with 50,103 units in the year-ago period. Exports stood at 16,900 units last month as against 14,700 units in June 2024.
In a press release, the company said that the total sales for the Apr -Jun quarter were reported at 1,80,399 units. which includes 1,32,259 domestic sales and 48,140 exports. With the increased focus on exports, the company's export contribution reached 26.7 per cent to its total sales in Q1 of FY2026.
Commenting on the sales, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “Underscoring the global appeal of Hyundai vehicles, we recorded a 13% year-on-year growth in export volumes for Q1 FY2026, with
48,140 units shipped compared to 42,600 units in the same period last year. This has elevated the share of exports to 26.7% of total sales in Q1 FY2026, up from 22.2% in Q1 FY2025.
The geopolitical situation affected the sales in the domestic marked. However, Garg remains optimistic of recovery in demand.
