According to the company, the new Prime range has been developed for fleet operators and taxi entrepreneurs, focusing on low operating costs, reliability and higher earning potential. Both models are powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder engine, available with petrol and CNG options.
The Prime HB is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh, while the Prime SD starts at Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open at Hyundai dealerships across India with a booking amount of Rs 5,000.
“With the introduction of Prime HB and Prime SD, HMIL is proud to enter the commercial mobility space with products that are engineered for trust, reliability and good earning potential,” said Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO designate, Hyundai Motor India. He added that the vehicles are aimed at delivering maximum uptime, predictable maintenance and low cost of ownership for commercial users.
Hyundai said both models come with extended warranty options for high-usage vehicles, offering coverage for the fourth and fifth year or up to 1,80,000 km, whichever is earlier. The company claims a total cost of ownership of about 47 paise per km. Flexible finance options with repayment tenures of up to 72 months will also be available.
The Prime range will be supported by Hyundai’s nationwide sales and service network, with trained fleet care advisors at dealerships to cater specifically to taxi and fleet customers.
In terms of efficiency, the Prime SD offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 28.40 km per kg on CNG, while the Prime HB delivers 27.32 km per kg.

Both models are equipped with standard safety and convenience features such as six airbags, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, front and rear power windows, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, central locking, emergency stop signal, three-point seatbelts and a company-fitted speed limiting function capped at 80 kmph. Select features such as rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry are exclusive to the Prime HB.
Hyundai is also offering optional accessories, including a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera and a three-year warranty, as well as a vehicle location tracking device with panic buttons.
The Prime HB and Prime SD will be available in three colour options — Atlas White, Typhoon Silver and Abyss Black.
