Chennai: India's trade deals with the European Union and the UK, and the current one with the US would bring tremendous opportunities for the country, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Monday.

"It has opened up both the world market and the Indian market...I am extremely positive about the opportunities that lie ahead," Chandrasekaran said on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the integrated manufacturing plant of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) and Jaguar Land Rover Automotive (JLR) in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu.

He added that the factory was conceived to bring the latest Tata Motors models as well as Jaguar Land Rover models.

"It has been built with a production capacity of 300,000 vehicles," he said. "This will probably be the beginning for us to produce high-end vehicles."

The new facility would produce next-generation vehicles, including electric models, of both Tata Motors and JLR. The first vehicle to roll out is the locally-manufactured Range Rover Evoque from JLR.

The facility was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, and Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles chairman N Chandrasekaran in the presence of ministers, bureaucrats, government officials, and senior executives from TMPV, JLR, and the Tata Group.

"With the commencement of operations at this new manufacturing facility and the rollout of the first Range Rover Evoque in Panapakkam, Ranipet, the state is proud to witness the expansion of world-class automotive manufacturing."
