Amit Mitra meets BMW executives, pitches for 'sustained relationship'

KOLKATA: In his efforts to make Singur fiasco a thing of past, Bengal finance, industry and commerce minister Amit Mitra today held a ‘three hour long’ meeting with the top officials of BMW in Munich in Germany.

“The officials of BMW made several presentations. The meeting was productive. We will carry the talks forward,” Mitra told the media persons in Munich. About BMW’s intention to invest in Bengal, Mitra said that all options were open.

Adding that Bengal government wants a ‘sustained relationship’ with BMW, he said that the automobile major stressed on ‘green mobility’ and made presentation on electric cars and bikes.

He invited his counterpart in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia to Bengal Global Business Summit, 2017. Mitra was accompanied by Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary, Mayor of Kolkata, Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay and other delegates.
