For Arun Sarin, it's a special honour
Arun Sarin dedicated the honour to the 100,000 people he has had the privilege of working with across the globe. He took the opportunity to thank Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the political leadership for putting India on the global map and for the recent fiscal packages to tide over the current crisis.

I can say this comfortably that we owe a debt of gratitude to our leadership and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in particular, who turned around the economy in the 1990s and is at the helm of providing fiscal packages now, said Mr Sarin.

The Indian boxer was modest in acknowledging that success was not an individual effort and, in his case, his entire family played a role. I thank my wife and two children for putting up with me and supporting me. They are also my best critics, he said.

This award was special to him, as it came from a jury of his peers: I dont know how the jury selected me, as there were a number of other people deserving this award.

Mr Sarin, who stepped down as chief executive of Vodafone Group in July last year, is now on a sabbatical. .After working in Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America , he is now spending time with his family and surfing in hometown California, planning his next career move.
