Sensex ends 145 pts lower, Nifty below 7,800

Tracking weak cues from European markets, BSE benchmark Sensex erased most of Monday's gains, as selling pressure on FMCG and IT counters weighed heavy on the benchmark indices. The S&P BSE Sensex plummeted 145 points, or 0.56 per cent, to close the day at 25,590.65 while the 50-stock barometer Nifty50 ended at 7,786.10 points, down 48 points, or 0.62 per cent.
