Radha Ashtami 2026: What Is The Correct Vrat Rule?

Premanand Ji Maharaj has explained that Radha Ashtami vrat is primarily a vrat of love and devotion. Devotees should keep their mind focused on Shri Radha and spend the important part of the day in her remembrance. Devotees should avoid eating in the morning period, which is associated with the manifestation of Radha Rani. After this, devotees can participate in the worship, abhishek and shringar of Shri Radha. The emphasis is therefore on bhakti rather than simply remaining hungry.

What Should Devotees Do On Radha Ashtami?

On Radha Ashtami, devotees can begin the day by taking a bath and wearing clean clothes. The puja area should also be cleaned before beginning the worship. Devotees can then worship Radha-Krishna with flowers, incense, diya, bhog and other traditional puja offerings. The idol or picture of Radha Rani can be decorated beautifully as part of the shringar.
