‘Inspired’ by Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Armaan Jain and Anissa Malhotra to name their baby Rana

On April 23, 2023, Bollywood actor Armaan Jain and his wife Anissa Malhotra became proud parents to a baby boy. The good news came five months after the birth of the daughter of Armaan’s actor-cousin Ranbir Kapoor and his actor-wife Alia Bhatt.

While Ranbir and Alia have named their baby daughter as Raha Kapoor, it seems Armaan and Anissa were inspired to have a similar sounding and short name for their baby son.

Armaan and Anissa, who are first-time new parents, have revealed their son's name as Rana Jain. Doesn’t it sound similar to Raha? And that is so cute, considering Rana and Raha will be cousins.



In fact, Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor had shared the news of the birth of Armaan and Anissa’s baby, through her social media. The couple had shared pictures from their maternity shoot on social media in February 2023. They shared another maternity shoot picture on April 28, with the caption, "Waiting for Rana". The baby’s name was thus revealed.



Armaan and Anissa were congratulated by friends and family when Baby Rana was born, including sweet messages by Armaan’s cousins and actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor.

Armaan and Anissa shared a post on Instagram stories, where their newborn’s name was revealed. Anissa shared a cute picture of her holding her baby’s fingers, saying “5 days with you and it already feels like a lifetime #Rana." The hashtag Rana revealed the baby’s name. Armaan Jain re-shared the Insta story and said, “My Jaan”.

Earlier, to announce their baby’s arrival, Armaan and Anissa had shared a sketch of a little baby. It read, “Baby Rana has arrived.” In the caption, Anissa wrote, “Nothing ever prepared us for this moment. Our lives will never be the same again! Welcome to our little king 'Rana'."
