A day after Pamela Chopra's demise, Alia-Ranbir, Kareena-Saif, Kajol-Ajay attend prayer meet

A day after producer-singer Pamela Chopra's sudden demise, her grieving family held a prayer meeting for friends and colleagues from the film fraternity to celebrate the life of Bollywood's beloved Pam Aunty.

To pay tribute to the late producer, her film-maker Aditya Chopra and his actress-wife Rani Mukerji organised the prayer meeting at their residence in Mumbai on Friday.

Several B-town celebrities were spotted outside the Chopra residence on Friday evening.


Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and her actor-husband Saif Ali Khan, dressed in white ethnic wear, were clicked at Chopra's residence. The power couple, who have two children together, have been a part of several projects like 'Hum Tum', 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!', 'Tashan', and 'Bunty Aur Babli 2', among several others, produced by Chopra's production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF).


The newlyweds Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani also visited Chopra's home in Mumbai to offer their condolences. Actress Kajol and her director-actor-husband Ajay Devgn were also seen at Chopra's residence.

Pictures of actress Alia Bhatt with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor entering the Chopra residence have been doing the rounds on social media.

The shutterbugs also caught glimpses of veteran actress Jaya Bachchan and her daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan talking to Mukerji outside the Chopra residence.

Pam Aunty passed away on Thursday (April 20) at the age of 74. She was admitted after she was diagnosed with ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) pneumonia. She was in the ICU for 15 days before she breathed her last in the hospital. She is survived by her producer-son Aditya and actor-son Uday.

The Chopras issued a statement after Pamela's demise, "With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning... We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection."

The industry insiders called her late film-maker Yash Chopra's 'muse'. She was an active collaborator in her husband's creative pursuits. She was last seen in the Netflix documentary 'The Romantics', in which, she talked about her husband's film-making journey and, how Yash Raj studio evolved over the years. Pamela lost her husband in 2012.

Pam-Yash married in 1970. Pamela Chopra had sung several iconic songs for several hit films including 'Kabhie Kabhie', 'Noorie', 'Kaala Patthar', 'Silsila', 'Chandni', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' and 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge'.
