Produced by the Russo Brothers' (Joe and Anthony Russo) AGBO and showrunner David Weil, Citadel will premiere in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, PTI reported.

According to the makers of the series, it is a unique television event. What makes it unique is that the show and its subsequent off-shoots traverse the globe with interconnected stories, they said.

In Citadel, Madden and Chopra Jonas play Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh — both part of the independent global spy agency Citadel, which is "tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people".

Citadel was laid to waste by Manticore, a shadowy syndicate manipulating the world. As Citadel fell, Madden and Chopra Jonas' characters had their memories wiped out even as they narrowly escaped with their lives.

Since then, they've remained hidden, building new lives under new names, oblivious to their pasts.

Then one night, former Citadel operative Bernard Orlick (Tucci) tracks Mason down. Orlick is seeking help to stop the shadowy Manticore from setting up a new world order.

Mason and Nadia are then reunited. They embark on a mission around the globe.

The show will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 28 with one episode rolling out every week through May 26.
