Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul, has revealed his plans to marry his partner, Ann Lesley Smith, a former police chaplain. The couple, with an age gap of 26 years, first met in September 2022 during an event at his vineyard in California.

In an interview with his publication, the New York Post, the 92-year-old businessman expressed his happiness and stated that he knew this would be his last love.

He had split with his fourth wife, Jerry Hall, in the previous year. Murdoch, who is of Irish heritage, proposed to Smith on St Patrick's Day and described himself as being "very nervous."

Smith's late husband Chester Smith was a radio and TV executive, and country singer. The couple considers their relationship a blessing from God.

Smith stated that she lost her husband 14 years ago, and like Rupert, her late husband was a businessman.

Murdoch, who has six children from his previous marriages, expressed his excitement about spending the remainder of his life with Smith. The couple plans to tie the knot in late summer and will divide their time between California, Montana, New York, and the UK.
