Former health secretary Matt Hancock was allegedly assaulted on the London Underground by a man.

Next month, Geza Tarjanyi, 61, of Leyland in Lancashire, will appear in court as he is charged with two public order violations and common assault. It is believed that the MP for West Suffolk was unharmed during the alleged incident on Tuesday.

Before 9 am, BTP received a report of an "assault and harassment" of a man at the station near the House of Commons. The conversation allegedly continued on a tube train. Hancock's spokesperson called it an "unpleasant experience." He continued by hailing the employees of British Transport Police and Transport for London as "wonderful."
