Marico boss calls for diversity in every organisation, says it helps people gain perspective

Building a successful organisation needs a diverse set of people, believes Harsh Mariwala.

The Marico Chairman, in his recent Twitter post, said that having a set of people who have seen life differently in a team helps organisations gain a wider range of perspectives.

Mariwala said people sometimes are stuck in a problem because they are unable to see the other side of it. "To gain other perspectives, it is important to have people who have seen life differently from you," he added.


With his popular #HarshRealities tag, Mariwala shared the same message with his 930.7K followers on Twitter. "Diversity is an enormous asset to have for any organisation," he wrote.


Last week, the 72-year-old said he believes people management is key when it comes to being an efficient leader.

In his post, he said that a lot of leaders - old and the ones learning the ropes - usually fall into the trap of doing everything on their own. He further said that an effective leader knows how to get things done than taking the burden of doing everything.

Mariwala, who has created people's favourite brands like Parachute and Saffola, has some tricks under his sleeves when it comes to managing and building businesses.
