Businessman Harsh Mariwala, known for creating India's favourite brands like Saffola and Parachute, believes that people management is key when it comes to being an efficient leader.
The Marico Chairman, in a post on LinkedIn, said that a lot of leaders - old and the ones learning the ropes - usually fall into the trap of doing everything on their own.
While sometimes it can be ignorance, Mariwala says most times 'ego' plays a major role in pushing leaders to end up doing all the tasks. "Your ego can mislead you into thinking that nobody can do a task better than you," he wrote in his post.
The 72-year-old says that an effective leader knows how to get things done than taking the burden of doing everything. Sometimes, relinquishing control isn't a sign of weakness, he added.
With his popular #HarshRealities tag, Mariwala shared the same message with his 930.7K followers on Twitter. "Effective leaders always evolve from doing things to getting them done. Relinquishing control does not mean losing power," he wrote.
