No probe yet into Balkrishna's passport: Official

Amid a controversy over the nationality of Ramdev's key aide Balkrishna, no inquiry has yet been ordered into the passport.

BAREILLY: Amid a controversy over the nationality of Ramdev's key aide Acharya Balkrishna, no inquiry has yet been ordered into the passport which shows him a resident of Haridwar.

Passport officer Sudhakar Rastogi on Saturday said that no inquiry has been ordered into the passport issued on February 7, 2007 which shows Balkrishna's date of birth as July 25, 1972.

Passports were being issued from the office here, to the then residents of Uttaranchal before the new state came into being, he said adding that it was issued only after a probe by the LIU, the police and the CID as per norms.

Documents relating to Balkrishana have been kept in safe custody and original copies have already been transferred to the Dehradun office, Rastogi said.
