Sonu Sood labelled the poster and the foundation as 'fake'.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who turned messiah for several Indians last year for actively helping people struck with the Covid crisis, took to Twitter on Monday to warn people about a fake campaign being set up using his name.

With a 'WARNING' caption and a 'fake' label, the 47-year-old actor alerted his 7.1 million followers that the fraud organisation is asking people to donate using his name, but has not been started by him.

The image suggested that Sood's team has urged people to donate to help those in need beginning from Re 1. The fake 'Sonu Sood Foundation' also shared a PhonePe number and a helpline contact.

"Please beware and report to your nearest police station," he wrote.

Last year during the coronavirus-induced lockdown, Sood had helped several migrant workers reach their home town and fed many underprivileged people.
