Azim Premji takes covid vaccine as govt steps up vaccination drive
Prominent business personalities, from Infosys’ NR Narayana Murthy to Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, have participated in the second phase of India’s covid vaccination drive.

The hospital authorities did not offer any comment.
On Monday, the first day of the second phase of vaccination in India, Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy, his wife Sudha Murty, Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan and Biocon Ltd.’s founder and executive chairperson, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, took the jab at Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bengaluru.
While Murthy told ET that the process went off well and they felt very nice at the end of it, Mazumdar-Shaw tweeted that the covid vaccination process was painless and without any side-effects.
“I guess it’s a booster dose for me since I had Covid 6 months ago. Feel safe & protected,” she said. She also urged eligible citizens to get themselves vaccinated.

Last month, Premji requested the government to immediately allow private participation in the country’s vaccination drive against Covid-19 and stated that more than 500 million people can be vaccinated in 60 days with the involvement of private firms and institutions.
