Indians, on Wednesday, woke up to some great news as Google CEO Sundar Pichai was elevated as head of the tech giant's parent company Alphabet Inc. The 47-year-old, who took over the CEO's role as Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped down from their executive positions from Alphabet, took to Twitter to express excitement and his aspirations for the future. Pichai thanked the founders for building a foundation that he, as the new CEO, will continue to build on.

"I’m excited about Alphabet’s long term focus on tackling big challenges through technology. Thanks to Larry & Sergey, we have a timeless mission, enduring values and a culture of collaboration & exploration - a strong foundation we’ll continue to build on," he wrote.

The IIT Kharagpur alumnus's promotion left his followers in India thrilled, including business tycoons like Mahindra and Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra and Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

Mahindra, who often leaves netizens impressed with his wit, took to Twitter to post a quirky congratulatory tweet for Alphabet's newly-elected boss. He quipped that India could go on to monetise its export of CEOs and get some returns from it.

"India's most robust export product is probably the 'Global CEO.' It's now a universal perception that Indian executives are leadership material. If only there was some way of monetising these 'exports,' India would have a perpetual balance of payments surplus!" Mahindra tweeted.

Say what you must about his diet, but the evolution of Jack Dorsey’s footwear style is fascinating. From loafers to statement sneakers to thong sandals, the Twitter CEO knows a thing or two about shoes. In 2017, the Internet went into a frenzy when Dorsey was spotted wearing thong-style sandals for a talk with former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Since then, the sandals have become a part of Dorsey’s wardrobe.

Most recently, he sported the Earth Runner sandals at the Square Crypto inaugural off-site. Starting at $69, the sandals are said to combine the barefoot benefits of earthing shoes (shoes that offer the primal experience of living grounded to the earth) with the functionality of minimalist running sandals.

The tech entrepreneur is more comfortable in sports coats and ties. “I’m probably the only guy in Silicon Valley who enjoys wearing a jacket or a tie and does it unironically,” he has said earlier.

For a formal event, Systrom loves wearing Brioni suits for “that old Italian style”.
