Microsoft employees & interns mock company's Windows phone, 'developer' chant with quirky musical

Microsoft's foray into the smartphone market could not be a part of the tech giant's decade-long success story. While it wasn't a pleasant experience for the employees and interns, they found a fun way to acknowledge it. 150 full-time employees and interns of Microsoft spent their weekdays and weekends to create a quirky musical video as a satire on the tech giant's smartphone failure. Dressed in the company's logo colours, green, blue, red and yellow, the employees and interns performed at Microsoft's corporate campus in Redmond, Washington.

The 8-minute-long video captures a timeline of the company's many milestones over the years. Staring from the point when Bill Gates founded the company to where it is today. It went on to pay tribute to the iconic “developers, developers, developers” chant by former CEO Steve Ballmer and when Microsoft missed a beat with Vista.




Full of witty remarks, some lines of the song were, “All around the world our products are well-known! Except for when we tried to make a phone!”

Slightly cringey at points, the musical was a fun and creative way to acknowledge the company's highs and take a witty jibe at its lows.
