When union minister Babul Supriyo brought his pet pug on train to boost phone signals

We all have faced poor mobile network connection while travelling by trains in India. But Union Minister Babul Supriyo has a 'unique solution' to boost phone signals during train travel.

In a witty tweet posted yesterday, Supriyo shared a photo of his pug Eddie, saying he took his pet during his recent Rajdhani trip, hoping that the Vodafone network would follow him too!

"I took my Puggie Eddie with me on Rajdhani hoping Vodafone network wud (sic) follow him though the journey - afterAll he is their Brand Ambassador that’s what they claim in their commercials !! Alas, it didn’t help a bit," Supriyo tweeted.



Supriyo was referring to erstwhile Hutch Essar's popular advertisement -- You & I -- in which a dog, Cheeka, follows a boy wherever he went. The ad had a tagline, "Wherever you go, our network follows." The commercial first appeared in 2003 and became very popular.

However, the pug didn't help the minister in improving the phone signal during his journey, but the tweet became viral on social media.
