Indra Nooyi loves 'Sex & the City' for lessons in sisterhood

In the months since her departure was announced, former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi has been in a reflective mood, penning letters on life lessons, vision and the secret to success. One piece of advice from the boss that made heads turn wasn’t mentioned in the letters, but came from a business summit earlier this year.
Nooyi, at the summit, confessed to a TV series addiction — Sex and the City. Having accidentally discovered and binge-watched the entire series, she gushed, “I loved the show. Every episode had a lesson ... but the biggest takeaway was the sisterhood of the women.”
As a successful female leader, Nooyi has always emphasised the need for sisterhood to push more women to the top. “The more I looked at that show, I said, ‘Man! We have to create our own sisterhoods. We have to have our own safe spot where we can talk about our issues. We need an environment where our sisterhood does not judge us but gives us constructive feedback. And where we can talk about Mr Big,” Nooyi said with a laugh.
