The clock started ticking at the end of September and Musk managed to win the bet in November, after installing the energy storage plant. Verdict: Cannon-Brookes should have probably thought twice before putting money on the line with a man who sent a Tesla car into space.

And their rivalry culminated in a rather odd bet during a Queen’s Club ATP final. No, it wasn’t about who would trump whom, but who would take a bathroom break fi rst. McEnroe won the bet as Lendl went to relieve himself during Murray’s victory speech. Verdict: McEnroe, who won the “battle of the bladders” as he called it, would have wished he put some money on the wager.
