Visva Bharati gears up for the visit of Prime Minister Modi and Sheikh Hasina
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be conferred with honorary D Litt at the 3rd convocation of Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) on May 26 in Asansol.

However, central minister and local MP, Babul Supriya was not invited in the convocation ceremony of KNU which triggers serious controversy. Supriyo had expressed his displeasure for not being invited to the 3rd convocation of the University, where the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will be honoured with D. Litt degree.
On Tuesday Sadhan Chakraborty, Vice Chancellor of Kazi Nazrul University, expressed his regret on behalf of the university officials for not sending an invitation to local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) M P Babul Supriyo.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, that is located at Asansol, said that the MP was present in the first two convocations of the University and he will personally ask him to be present this time as well.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who has left for Bangalore on Tuesday, is likely to be present in both the events. Banerjee will attend the swearing in ceremony of Kumaraswamy, chief minister elect of Karnataka. This is the first time, PM Modi and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee are likely to be seen together on the same platform after the Karnataka election.
