Oh, Snap(chat)! Actress Miranda Kerr faces Twitter flak for fiancé Evan Spiegel's 'poor India’ comment
In a truly bizarre display of national pride, Indians are dissing Kerr on all possible social media platforms.

Over the weekend reports emerged that a former Snapchat employee had alleged that Snapchat’s CEO, Speigel was not interested to expand to poor countries like India and Spain. This got a lot of Indians started. In the wave of patriotism, a number of them posted nasty comments on Kerr’s social media profiles.
Some of those vile comments:
What an honor to celebrate Jeff Koons and his incredible collaboration with @louisvuitton ❤🙏🏻😊… https://t.co/6GhsumJ1tu

There are still others though, who have chosen to go against the tide and not followed suit. They have apologised to Kerr and requested her not to judge the entire population just by such outrageous comment.I bet @MirandaKerr and @evanspiegel marriage won't even survive 5 years. Rich people, but poor culture, poor traditions #snapchat

Some of them are:
"I am apologizing on behalf of my country. You do not deserve the hate. WE don't even know if he actually said that. IT WAS NOT A DIRECT QUOTE!! stop harassing her," writes a person who goes by the username bhavanaxoxo.
"Indians commenting here should carefully reflect on what dignified and civilized conduct means...Your insults insult you more than they do anyone else. Material poverty is not something to be ashamed of, but poverty of mind and character are," writes someone who goes by the username ashamed_indian.
@thetanmay Thanks bud. Ppl asking us to make a statement that @snapdeal is not @snapchat was possibly the last thing I thought I would ever need to do.

In the wake of all this brouhaha, Snapchat has officially refuted all such allegations. However, the ratings of the app has also slipped on the Apple iOS store and Google’s Play Store.
