NEW DELHI: Congress MPs are not expected to resign from Parliament, unlike Captain Amarinder Singh, as Haryana “cannot be allowed to hijack the SYL debate” in Parliament, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa told ET on Thursday.

“Captain has resigned as he is PCC president... he will fight in Punjab and make people in Punjab aware of our stand. I, being a Rajya Sabha member, and all other Congress MPs will fight in Parliament. If there is nobody from Punjab in Parliament, Haryana MPs will ensure that whole country feels Punjab is doing wrong. This is the Congress party line as well,” Bajwa said. Congress has nine other MPs in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha from Punjab, besides Captain.

AAP ATTACKS ALL OTHERS
Attacking Congress and Badals, AAP leader HS Phoolka said: “It was the Manmohan Singh government that sent the presidential reference to the SC. The Modi government could have withdrawn the said reference from SC after it came to power.”
