NEW DELHI: BPO firm EXL on Friday said it has acquired the back office centre of American Express Business Travel (AEBT) for $30 million (Rs 140 crore).

"The acquisition of American Express' Global Travel Service Center operations in Gurgaon will be about $30 million net of working capital adjustments at closing," EXL President and CEO Rohit Kapoor said in a statement.

The deal will help expand EXL's capabilities in analytics, exception processing and transaction processing, it added.

The transaction, expected to close in the first quarter of next year, will help add a management team and a delivery center to EXL.

EXL has also entered into an eight-year agreement to service the back-office operations of American Express Business Travel (AEBT).

"EXL will provide business process services to AEBT. We estimate achieving more than $160 million in revenues over the life of the contract," Kapoor said.
