HCL offers Rs 1 crore to TTD run orphanage

TIRUPATI: Tech major HCL today made an offering of Rs one crore to the shrine of Lord Venkateswara at nearby Tirumala, temple officials said.

Company Chairman Shiv Nadar handed over a cheque for the amount to TTD Chairman C H Krishnamurthy and TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao at the shrine, the official said.

The amount would be utilized for the benefit of 'S V Balamandir', a children's orphanage set up seven decades ago by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, which runs the hill temple, the temple official added.
