Apple India chief Alok Sharma quits

Apple Computer's India managing director Alok Sharma along with several of his colleagues has left the company.

NEW DELHI: Apple Computer���s India managing director Alok Sharma along with several of his colleagues has left the company.

Mr Sharma had joined Apple India in 2004, and was responsible for helping Apple create significant retail and distribution alliances in the country, including a partnership with Reliance Digital.

When contacted by ET on Friday, an Apple spokesman confirmed that Mr Sharma has quit the company.

���Yes it is true that Mr Sharma has left Apple. Tom Preising is Apple's new acting country sales manager for India responsible for the day-to-day operations in the region. Apple continues to invest in India as a growing market for the company,��� said Alan Hely, Apple���s spokesperson based in London.
