BJP on path to realise Narendra Modi's dream of Congress-free India: B S Yeddyurappa
BANGALORE: BJP national vice president B S Yeddyurappa today said the Haryana and Maharashtra assembly election results showed that the party was on its path towards realising Narendra Modi's call for a 'Congress free India'.

"As expected Congress has been defeated in the Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections; BJP will form the government in Haryana on its own, and in Maharashtra it looks like we will have to go into an alliance. Our leaders will take a decision on this," he told reporters here.

He said BJP and its leaders are on a successful path towards realising Modi's call for Congress free India. Taking inspiration from this, the party would work towards further strengthening itself, he said.

"This will further strengthen our efforts to build our party in Karnataka and bring it to power in the state once again," he added.

The former Karnataka Chief Minister also said that the results of these elections showed Congress was losing ground and people are looking towards the strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP workers in different parts of the state celebrated the party's performance in Haryana and Maharashtra by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
